Deck Cadet
Deck Cadets serve on board ships, as part of the team that handles the daily operations and efficient running of the ship. Though the deck cadet assists with jobs including navigation and maintenance, the role of deck cadet is mostly of a trainee. It is the first step towards becoming a ship officer. A duty officer oversees the deck cadet at all times and takes full responsibility for the cadet's work. However, it must be understood that the life of an Officer is tough, and not suited for the weak hearted.
We have introduced a cadet training programme specifically tailored to the industry. The programme follows the Merchant Navy deck officer cadet foundation degree route, with the fundamental underpinning knowledge units such as bridge watch keeping, chart work, ship stability and cargo work, but includes additional super yacht specific units such as super yacht operations, paint care and hospitality. The academic entry requirements are the same as the Merchant Navy cadetship programme. For officer In charge of Navigational watch
